Spirit Companions Mod (26.3, 1.20.1) – Keep Faithful Pets By Your Side

Spirit Companions Mod lets you turn mobs into glowing spirit friends that follow you everywhere. These translucent spirits float through walls while you walk and land to explore when you stop. They never hurt anyone, never take damage, and never despawn on your adventures. Your spirits follow you through Nether portals and stay safe in the spirit world when you log out.

Features:

• Spirit Extraction: Hold a Spirit Lantern near any mob to extract its glowing spirit while leaving behind a fading husk.
• Spirit Collar: Tamed wolves or cats wearing this collar automatically come back as loyal spirits when they die.
• Natural Pet Bond: Mounts and pets you spend many days with gain a higher chance to return as spirits even without a collar.
• Harmless Allies: Spirits never despawn, cannot take damage from attacks, and never hurt other creatures.
• Spirits fly in circles around you while you walk and phase directly through solid walls and blocks.
• Companions land on the ground to stroll around whenever you stand still.
• Followers travel safely to the spirit world when you walk too far away or disconnect from the game.
• Up to five spirits can travel behind you at the same time by default.
• Spirits glow softly in the dark and retain partial colors from their original living forms.
• Adds custom items like the Spirit Lantern, Spirit Bell, Spirit Canister, Spirit Collar, and Spirit Saddle.
• Follows you across dimensions through portals and teleports without getting lost.

Configuration:

• maxSpiritsPerPlayer: Sets how many spirit followers can accompany a single player.
• spiritWorldDistance: Sets how far away a player must move before spirits go to the spirit world.
• spiritExtractionSeconds: Adjusts how many seconds you must hold the lantern on a mob to extract its spirit.
• huskWitherSeconds: Controls how long a soulless husk takes to vanish after extraction.
• collarSpiritReturnSeconds: Changes how many seconds a collared pet takes to reappear as a spirit after dying.
• spiritTranslucencyPercentage: Adjusts how see-through spirit companions look.
• spiritOriginalColourPercentage: Changes how much of their natural color spirits keep.
• spiritShadowIntensityPercentage: Controls the strength of the glowing light under each spirit.
• spiritOrbitDistance: Sets how far away flying spirits circle around the player.
• averageSecondsBetweenSpontaneousFlights: Controls how often a walking spirit takes off to fly on its own.

How to Use:

1. Craft a Spirit Lantern using iron and soul fire items.
2. Walk up to any mob and hold the Spirit Lantern on it for five seconds.
3. Watch the mob’s soul turn into a floating spirit while its old body fades away.
4. Equip your tamed dogs and cats with a Spirit Collar so they turn into spirits if they fall in battle.
5. Explore your world freely while your new glowing ghost companions follow behind you.
