VaultSync is a Paper plugin that saves and restores vanilla player data using a database, helping server owners maintain player snapshots across disconnects and server restarts.
Features
- Automatic saving — Save player data on a configurable interval, when players disconnect, and during server shutdown.
- Player restoration — Restore saved snapshots when players join, or use commands to save and restore player data manually.
- Offline player support — Inspect stored snapshots and queue restorations for offline players.
- Manager GUI — Use
/vaultsync guito browse online players and access save, info, and confirmed restore actions through an inventory interface. - Secure GUI access — Restrict GUI usage through UUID allowlisting and the
vaultsync.guiorvaultsync.adminpermission. - Database connection pooling — Uses HikariCP with configurable connection pool settings.
- Data safety — Failed serialization does not replace an existing database snapshot, and save operations report their actual database results.
- Snapshot compatibility — Existing version 1 snapshots remain readable and are upgraded when the player is saved again.

Getting Started
- Install the plugin JAR in your server's
pluginsfolder. - Start the server to generate the configuration.
- Configure your MySQL or MariaDB connection in
plugins/VaultSync/config.yml. - Restart the server and verify the database connection.
- Add trusted manager UUIDs to
allowmanagerif you want to use the GUI.
VaultSync focuses on vanilla player state. It does not synchronize world chunks, economy balances, permissions, or private data belonging to other plugins.
Always back up your database and server before restoring player snapshots.
