Features:
- Translatable Messages: Lets a mod add one message file for each language code.
- Colorful Text: Reads message text with PlaceholderAPI, so you can use colors and placeholders.
- Easy Editing: Lets players change any message by editing a JSON file in the config folder.
- Works on the server side only.
- Gives you a text object that works like any vanilla text instance.
- Needs PlaceholderAPI added next to it, because this mod does not bundle it.
How to Use:
- Add the repositories and the two dependencies to your
build.gradlefile. Replace[TAG]with the right versions.
repositories {
maven { url "https://maven.nucleoid.xyz/" }
maven { url "https://api.modrinth.com/maven" }
}
dependencies {
include(modImplementation("maven.modrinth:message-api:[TAG]"))
include(modImplementation("eu.pb4:placeholder-api:[TAG]"))
}
- Create a
messagesfolder in your resource folder. - Add a JSON file named after the language code you want, like
en_us.json. - Write your messages in the file. Start each message id with your mod id to avoid clashes.
- Use the methods in
LocalizedMessageto get your text, then send it to a player.
ServerPlayerEntity player;
player.sendMessageToClient(LocalizedMessage.localized("modid.some.message.id"));
- If you use Official Mojang Mappings, send it with
player.sendSystemMessage(LocalizedMessage.localized("modid.some.message.id"))instead. - To change a message as a player, edit
./config/<modid>/<languageid>.json. This changes the language file for the mod with thatmodid.
