Wouldn't it be great if beacons actually helped you find your way around the world, just like a lighthouse (a literal translation of "beacon") is supposed to?
Well, now beacons actually work the way they should.
--->It is 1000% recommended that you remove the fog (preferably using "sodium extra" for this) for the best experience with the mod.<---

(The gif quality is bad but the mod works, dont worry)
---> How it works, depending on where it's installed
The mod adapts itself depending on who has it installed:
Full experience (mod on the Server-Side AND on Client-side, or if you are on a single player world): Every active beacon is synced live to every player with the mod. Someone can activate a beacon far outside your render distance, and you'll see the beam appear on your screen in real time.
Client-only (playing on a server without the mod): No live sync here. The client side stores the beacons that were active and appeared within render distance. This way, it is still possible to experience the mod even without it being installed server-side.
Server-only: Install it only on the server, and players without the mod still can join and play completely normally.
I've been using this mod for quite a while in my hardcore world (which is hosted on a server), so I can guarantee (with ~99% certainty) that there are no issues with it. Unless you refuse to disable the fog in-game, because the beams have rendering issues when fog is active.
(Mojang, could you explain why players can't see beacon beams from long distances? They're literally beacons!)
