Trash & Crates OG Mod (26.3, 1.20.1) – Move Your Base in a Few Trips

Trash & Crates OG Mod adds wooden crates that hold more than a chest and keep everything inside when you break them. They work like shulker boxes you can craft on day one. This mod also adds a trash can that destroys whatever you put, throw or pipe into it. You can move your base in a few trips and stop filling chests with rotten flesh.

Features:

• Big Storage: A crate has 36 slots and a reinforced crate has 54 slots, all in a single block.
• Break It, Keep It: A broken crate drops as one item with everything inside, and placing it puts all the items back.
• Trash Can: Gives you a 27-slot screen that deletes everything left inside when you close it.
• Throw It In: Items dropped, thrown or washed into the trash can burn up with a hiss and a puff of smoke.
• Hopper Friendly: Hoppers and droppers can fill crates or empty into the trash can, so you can sort the keepers and bin the rest.
• No Storage in Storage: Crates turn away other crates and shulker boxes, which stops items from getting big enough to overload saves and servers.
• Crates mine faster with an axe.
• Works with any way of breaking a crate: by hand, explosions or machines from other mods.
• In creative, a full crate still drops itself, like a shulker box.
• Shows a tooltip that lists what a crate holds.
• Keeps the name of a renamed crate, placed or broken, and shows it on the screen.
• Works with comparators and with pipes from other mods.
• Uses the game’s own chest screens, so inventory sorting mods work in them.

Crate	36 (4 rows)	Storage that drops with its contents when broken. Mined faster with an axe.
Reinforced Crate	54 (6 rows, a double chest)	The same, iron-banded and a little tougher.
Trash Can	27 (3 rows)	Destroys what is left in it when you close it, what you throw in, and what hoppers push in.

Configuration:

All settings are in config/trashcratesog.properties. The file is created on the first start.

• cratesKeepContents: Default is true. A broken crate drops with its contents. When false, crates spill like chests.
• cratesHoldPortableStorage: Default is false. Lets crates hold other crates and shulker boxes.
• trashDroppedItems: Default is true. Items thrown or washed into a trash can are destroyed.
• trashFromHoppers: Default is true. Hoppers and droppers can empty into a trash can.
