Dynamic Nutrition Mod adds five nutrients to the game: carbs, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. Hunger tells you how long it has been since you ate, and the nutrients tell you what you ate. Every food fills them by different amounts, based on real food data. Keep a nutrient high and you get a buff. Let it run low and you get a penalty. This mod also works with most food mods.

Features:
- Five Nutrients: Tracks carbs, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. Each one drains at its own speed. Carbs go fastest, while fat barely moves.
- Real Food Data: Food values come from real per-100g data. A carrot gives far more vitamins than cooked beef, and cooked beef gives far more protein than a carrot.
- Variety Counts: Eating the same food again is worth less. Of your last eight meals, every repeat lowers the value down to a floor. Eight or more different foods lose nothing, and three foods lose about a third.
- Nutrient Effects: A high nutrient gives you a buff and a low nutrient gives you a penalty. All ten effects run at half the vanilla strength by default.
- Works With Food Mods: Foods from other mods get their values worked out automatically from food data, item tags, recipes and even the food’s name. In the author’s test packs, about 97.6% of 30,668 modded foods got values this way.
- Changes nutrition only and never hunger, so hunger works the same as without the mod.
- Groups all your buffs under one Well Nourished icon and all your penalties under one Malnourished icon. Both can show at once.
- Lets you hover over either icon beside your inventory to see which effects it stands for, each in the color of its nutrient.
- Keeps potion and beacon effects on their own icons, so no effect is shown twice.
- Does not clear penalties with milk, because the cure for a deficiency is food.
- Sets different red and green lines for each nutrient. Fat has a low red line because a real fat deficiency is rare. Both lines are marked on every bar, and a mark turns white once you pass it.
- Adds a strip beside the hunger bar that shows all five nutrients. It sits above bars from other mods, so they keep their place.
- Shows food tooltips with what a food is worth to you right now, including any cut for repeats.
- Gives you a settings screen with Cloth Config. It has four tabs, and each of the ten effects has its own strength from 0 to 100%.
- Comes in English, Chinese (Simplified), Russian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, German, French, Japanese and Korean.
Nutrient Effects:
| Nutrient | High (Buff) | Low (Penalty) |
|---|---|---|
| Carbohydrates | Speed | Slowness |
| Protein | Strength | Weakness |
| Fat | Resistance | Hunger |
| Vitamins | Regeneration | Blindness |
| Minerals | Haste | Mining Fatigue |
Commands:
/dynamicnutrition unassigned: lists every food that has no values in your game./dynamicnutrition export: writes the whole table of values to a CSV file, with where each value came from. Operators only. A second file lists the ingredients each value came from.
How to Use:
- Press N or click the small button in your inventory to open the nutrition screen.
- If the button overlaps a button from another mod, turn it off in the settings. The N key still works.
- Watch the strip beside the hunger bar to see all five nutrients.
- Hover over a food to see its value for you right now. Press F3 + H for advanced tooltips that also show where the values came from.
- Eat many different foods to keep every nutrient above its green line.
