Bare Bones Resource Pack strips the default Minecraft textures back to flat, clean colour, which is where the name comes from. Detail and noise come out of the blocks and what is left reads as solid shapes, close to the look of the official animated trailers. It stays at 16×16, so it runs anywhere the standard game runs and needs no shader pack or extra loader to work.

Features:
- Block and item textures are redrawn as flat colour with the noise and detail taken out.
- The palette is bolder than vanilla, so grass, stone and wood separate clearly at a distance.
- The overall look follows the style of the official Minecraft trailers and animated shorts.
- Resolution stays at 16×16, matching vanilla, so frame rates hold up on weak hardware.
- No loader, core mod or shader pack is needed. It loads as a plain resource pack.
- Versions are available going back a long way, from the 1.6 releases up to Minecraft 1.21.
- Add-on packs are allowed as long as they carry only the textures they actually replace.
- You may edit the pack for your own use, but reuploading it or handing the edit around is not permitted.
How to Use:
- Download the Bare Bones zip file that matches your Minecraft version. Leave it zipped.
- Open the Run box and type
%appdata%, then go into the.minecraftfolder. - Move the zip into the
resourcepacksfolder, and delete an older Bare Bones zip if one is sitting there. - Start Minecraft, then open Options followed by Resource Packs.
- Move Bare Bones to the selected side, press Done, and the world redraws in the new textures.
