BubbleGraves Data Pack will save you from losing all your items when you die. After installing this data pack, it will spawn a minecart chest named Bubble Grave where the player dies, even if they die in the void. Bubble Grave can not be moved or broken. However, the Bubble Grave contains all the items that the player has on them before they die. To retrieve your all your items, simply right-click the minecart.
