Explore your Minecraft Bedrock world with a powerful waypoint and teleportation system designed to make traveling, saving locations, and managing shared destinations simple.
**Improved Waypoints** lets players create and manage personal waypoints, share locations publicly, request teleports to other players, return to important locations, and safely explore distant areas using Random Teleport.
Version **2.0.1** expands the addon with Safe Areas, multi-dimensional Random Teleport, safer RTP destinations, and a new administration system that gives world owners control over the features available to their players.
**Currently supports Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.30. and above.**
## Waypoint System
Save important locations throughout your world and return to them whenever needed.
- Create personal waypoints
- View saved waypoints
- Update existing waypoints
- Delete waypoints
- Teleport directly to saved locations
- Create public waypoints for other players
- Browse and use public waypoints
- Works across supported Minecraft dimensions
- Persistent waypoint storage
## Lost Your Waypoint Menu?
The **Waypoint Menu** is the compass used to access Improved Waypoints. If your Waypoint Menu is ever lost, destroyed, or otherwise unavailable, you can simply craft another one.
### Waypoint Menu Recipe
To craft a new **Waypoint Menu**, you will need:
- **1 Compass**
- **1 Diamond**
Place the **Compass** and **Diamond** next to each other in a crafting grid to create a new Waypoint Menu.

Once crafted, use the Waypoint Menu to access your saved waypoints, Safe Areas, teleport options, slot upgrades, and other available features.
## Safe Areas
Players have two different ways to maintain a safe location.
### Automatic Safe Area
While traveling, Improved Waypoints automatically keeps track of a recent safe location.
If you move far enough away, the addon updates your Automatic Safe Area so you have a recent location available to return to.
Use **Teleport to Automatic Safe Area** from the waypoint menu whenever you need it.
### Manual Safe Area
Want a location that doesn't automatically change?
Set your own **Manual Safe Area** and keep it saved until you decide to update it.
The addon asks for confirmation before creating or replacing your Manual Safe Area so an existing location isn't accidentally overwritten.
Use **Teleport to My Safe Area** to return to it at any time.
## Random Teleport
Random Teleport supports multiple dimensions.
Players can randomly teleport within:
- Overworld
- Nether
- The End
Instead of simply choosing random coordinates, Improved Waypoints searches for a suitable landing location before teleporting the player.
The system checks for a solid landing surface, enough room for the player, and avoids dangerous or invalid locations such as lava, fire, magma blocks, cactus, powder snow, the Nether roof, and the void.
Players also receive temporary **Slow Falling** protection after Random Teleport. Once the player has remained safely on the ground for 5 seconds, the protection is automatically removed.
## Teleport Requests
Players can request permission to teleport directly to another player.
The receiving player can choose whether to accept or deny the request, giving players control over who can teleport to them.
## Death Location
Improved Waypoints can keep track of your previous death location, making it easier to return after respawning.
Players can also use **Clear Death Location** when they no longer want the saved death return point.
## Waypoint Slot Upgrades
Players begin with a set number of waypoint slots and can unlock additional space using XP levels.
World administrators can configure:
- Number of slots added with each upgrade
- XP level cost of upgrades
- Maximum number of waypoint slots
This allows the upgrade system to be adjusted to fit anything from a small survival world to a larger multiplayer server.
## Waypoint Admin
Version 2.0.1 introduces the **Waypoint Admin** system.
The first player to join after installing the addon becomes the initial Waypoint Admin. Additional administrators can be granted access using the:
`waypoint:admin`
tag.
Only administrators can see and access the **Waypoint Admin** menu.
### Admin Controls
Administrators can control whether players have access to:
- Teleport to Location
- Request Teleport to Player
- Random Teleport
Random Teleport can also be configured separately for each dimension, allowing administrators to enable or disable:
- Overworld RTP
- Nether RTP
- The End RTP
## Public Waypoint Moderation
Waypoint Admins can manage locations players have shared publicly.
Administrators can browse the public waypoint list and remove inappropriate or unwanted public entries.
Removing a waypoint from the public list **does not delete the owner's private saved waypoint**. It only removes that location from public access.
## Persistent World Settings
Waypoint Admin settings are stored with the world and remain configured after the world or server restarts.
This makes Improved Waypoints suitable for both personal worlds and persistent multiplayer servers.
## Resource Pack
The Improved Waypoints Resource Pack includes **PBR capability** for compatibility with Minecraft's modern rendering features.

# Before You Update
Always create a backup before making major changes to a world you care about.
Keep the Improved Waypoints Behavior Pack and Resource Pack on matching versions, and test important saved locations after updating.
Remember that public waypoints are available throughout the world, while private waypoints belong to individual players. Random teleportation, coordinate travel, and Death Return should also be used carefully in Survival gameplay.
