Simple Custom Battles is a Minecraft Bedrock Edition minigame addon designed to create fast, competitive multiplayer battles with a fun resource-gathering phase. Players begin the game by using a special item
(nscb:start_battle - must be summoned) that triggers the minigame. Once activated, all players enter a 30-minute resource collection period where they are in survival mode, cannot fight each other (PvP is disabled), and keep their inventory on death.
After the countdown ends, the game enters the intense Deathmatch phase, where PvP is enabled and players must fight to survive. Each player has a limited number of lives (configurable, default 5). Once a player loses all their lives, they are placed in spectator mode and can observe the remainder of the match. The game continues until only one player remains, who is crowned the winner.
The addon features:
- A dynamic HUD showing countdown timers during the resource collection phase and remaining lives during deathmatch.
- Big screen titles announcing the countdown, the start of the game, deathmatch, and elimination messages.
- Automatic enforcement of survival mode, PvP rules, and keep-inventory settings based on game phase and remaining lives.
- Fully configurable lives and game length through editing simple constants in the main script.
- No copyrighted content — all code, sounds, and icons are either vanilla or original.
This project was created using Bridge for Minecraft Bedrock and the Minecraft Script API 2.5.0. It was developed as a personal project to experiment with multiplayer game mechanics like timed phases, countdowns, lives, and HUD displays. ChatGPT was used to assist with scripting, debugging, and organization.
This addon is free to use, modify, and share. There is no license applied, meaning anyone is welcome to edit it, adapt it, or integrate it into their own projects. It is meant purely as a learning and experimental resource for Minecraft Bedrock players.
