Block Getter

Block Getter Add-on for Minecraft Bedrock Edition

The "Block Getter" add-on is a quality-of-life improvement specifically designed for Minecraft Bedrock Edition players who frequently build in Creative mode on PC. This add-on streamlines the process of acquiring blocks you need for construction, allowing for a more fluid and efficient building experience.

Purpose & Problem Solved: In Creative mode, while you have access to all blocks, finding and selecting the exact block you're currently looking at in your hotbar or inventory can often be a repetitive and time-consuming task. Whether you're duplicating a complex structure, extending a specific material, or simply need quick access to the block under your cursor, navigating the Creative inventory or using the pick block (middle-click) function can interrupt your flow. The "Block Getter" add-on aims to eliminate this friction.

Key Features:

• Intuitive Block Acquisition: Effortlessly obtain a copy of the block you are currently looking at in the game world.

• "Block Getter" Item: The add-on introduces a dedicated, custom item called the "Block Getter." This item acts as your primary tool for this functionality.

• Sneak-and-Use Activation: To activate the block acquisition, players must be in Creative mode, hold the "Block Getter" item, be sneaking (holding the Shift key on PC), and then right-click. This specific combination prevents accidental block acquisition and ensures intentional use.

• Creative Mode Exclusive: The functionality is strictly limited to Creative mode, maintaining fair gameplay in Survival.

• Automatic Item Provision: Players in Creative mode will automatically receive the "Block Getter" item upon spawning or switching into Creative mode, ensuring they always have access to the tool without needing to manually spawn it.

• User Feedback: The add-on provides clear in-game messages to the player, confirming when a block has been successfully obtained or explaining why an action couldn't be completed (e.g., "You must be sneaking!").

• Wide Block Compatibility: Works with most blocks that have an item form in Minecraft, including common building blocks, natural elements, and decorative items. Blocks without an item form (like barrier blocks, command blocks, or certain complex interactive blocks) will gracefully inform the user if they cannot be obtained.

How It Works:

Upon loading a world with the "Block Getter" add-on activated and entering Creative mode, you will automatically find the "Block Getter" item in your inventory. When you encounter a block you wish to quickly obtain:

1. Ensure you are in Creative mode.

2. Hold the "Block Getter" item in your hand.

3. Look directly at the block you want to copy.

4. Hold the Shift key (to sneak).

5. Right-click (use the item).

A copy of the block you were looking at will be instantly added to your player inventory, ready for immediate use.

Benefits for Builders:

• Increased Efficiency: Spend less time searching for blocks and more time building.

• Seamless Workflow: Maintain your focus and flow during complex building projects.

• Reduced Tedium: Less repetitive clicking through inventories for common blocks.

• Ideal for PC Players: Specifically designed to leverage the Shift key functionality common to PC gameplay.

Compatibility & Requirements:

• Minecraft Bedrock Edition (PC only): This add-on is built using the Minecraft Bedrock Scripting API and is intended for the PC version of Bedrock Edition (Windows 10/11).

• Version 1.21.80 or Higher: Designed for Minecraft Bedrock Edition version 1.21.80 and forward, ensuring compatibility with the latest scripting features.

• Experimental Features Enabled: For the add-on to function, you must enable "Holiday Creator Features," "Molang Features," and "Script APIs" in the Experiments section of your world settings.

Enhance your Creative mode building experience with the "Block Getter" add-on – making block acquisition as simple as a sneak and a click!
