The Overworld is empty. The groans of the dead and the whistle of arrows have been deleted. But the vacuum is filling with something worse: the Residue. The World Heart still beats, and it always collects its debt.

The Inheritances

Every dawn, the world reforges you in a new way:

• BONE: The sun strips flesh. Find shade or burn.
• STATIC: The water remembers the End and it wants you gone.
• PRESSURE: The sky is a ceiling of lead. Step outside and the air will crush your lungs.
• SEDATION: Light saps the will. Pickaxes won't swing while the sun watches. Only the dark allows for work.
• VOLATILE: Your blood is sand and salt. One spark erases everything you’ve built. The cats know; their eyes make your stomach turn.
• FERROUS: Iron is a bed of hot coals. The tools of the ancients now blister the skin.

The Paranoia

There is a thrum behind your neck. A vibration in the dead chunks of the map.

If the wind stops and the audio dies, it is right behind you. Do not look back. It only breathes when it is noticed.
At midnight, the world frays. This may be your only chance for survival. At daybreak - listen to the voices of the deleted. They are the only ones left.

1. DIG: The sun cannot find you in the deep stone. Just…don't stumble into lava.
2. ROOF: Open air is not your friend. Build high, build thick.
3. STARE: Never turn your back. If it stays behind you, it stays silent.
