You just need to chop wood to make a wooden pickaxe, craft a crafting table, mine stone to make a stone pickaxe, mine iron, mine more stone to make a furnace, then smelt the iron. After the iron is smelted, place the crafting table and use the iron to craft a bucket. Then find water and fill the bucket with water. Next, build a Nether portal using 10 blocks of obsidian, enter the Nether, and place the water bucket—you will see that water can be placed in the Nether.
