More info

  1. This add-on doesn't need experimental toggles.
  2. This add-on doesn't use player.json, which means it supports add-ons that have custom player behaviors.
  3. Fully supports multiplayer.

Howler behavior and learning

  1. You can disable blindness, darkness, and similar effects in the settings.
  2. Howler can trap players; over time it can learn more and become deadlier.
  3. Howler becomes more aggressive if you get too close frequently; LR rate (Learning Rate) affects how quickly it learns.
  4. Increased ambient sound activity can increase Howler's aggressiveness.
  5. Howler is curious — you might find it watching you in caves before it leaves.
  6. Howler doesn't immediately break blocks; it adapts and learns to break blocks if you repeatedly place them to block its path.
  7. Using shields or totems often may cause Howler to grab you and force you to drop the item.
  8. If you build up and break the block beneath you, Howler will climb and break the block above to reach you.
  9. When digging straight down, Howler can learn to dig down and break blocks beneath to follow you.
  10. Some skills Howler can learn:
    • Cover — covers itself with its arms for high defense (learned when players hit it too much or use arrows).
    • Stomp — pushes enemies away.
    • Speed boost — increases speed if the player runs away.
    • Call friends — detects if wolves or golems target it and may summon allies.
    • Fake-dig — pretends to dig then attacks from behind.
  11. Howler can appear where you've been before or dig behind the player.
  12. Howler may make dens near player bases; it has a process to detect player bases/houses.
  13. Howler sometimes hunts animals and mimics their voices afterward.
  14. Occasionally Howler will mimic player-made sounds (e.g., doors opening/closing) with a delay — headphones recommended.
  15. Howler may destroy farms, sleep on farms, or leave footprints near them.
  16. Many behaviors are toggleable — the add-on aims to be fun and functional; players can even morph as the Howler.

The Howler add-on is intended to be progressive: weak at first but offering a chance to gain resources and better gear. Expect rebalancing in future updates as needed.
