Spoiled Mod (26.1.2, 1.20.1) – Spoiling Your Food

With Spoiled Mod, all food items will spoil exactly after one in-game day. To prevent this, they must be stored in a shulker box.

Features:

• This mod will spoil your food over time. Currently all food items spoil after 1 day.
• You can stop food from spoiling by placing it inside a shulker box.

Spoil Rate and Spoil Time

The Spoiled mod uses 2 variables to dictate how long food takes to spoil.

• SpoilRate: This parameter defines the frequency at which the spoilage of food items increments. It is measured in seconds, indicating the time it takes for the spoilage level of an item to increase by 1.
• SpoilTime: SpoilTime determines the maximum number of updates an item can undergo before it is considered fully spoiled. It represents the lifespan of the food item in terms of spoilage updates.

Total Time for Food to Spoil Calculation

• To calculate the total time it takes for a food item to spoil, you can multiply the SpoilRate by the SpoilTime:
  • Total Spoil Time = SpoilRate * SpoilTime
• For example, if a food item has a SpoilRate of 10 seconds and a SpoilTime of 5 updates, the total time it takes to spoil would be:
  • Total Spoil Time = 10 seconds/update * 5 updates = 50 seconds

The mod contains a client config and a server config:

• In the Client config you can change if the food tooltip shows percentages or freshness.
• In the Server config you can specify which containers do not increase food spoilage.
• You can add / remove food spoilage using CraftTweaker.
