Your Items Are Safe Mod (26.2, 1.20.1) – Death Item Preservation

Your Items Are Safe Mod is a Minecraft mod that acts as a vanilla-friendly alternative to gravestone mods, preserving your gear when you die-without needing custom blocks or tombstones.

Features:

• Death Item Preservation:
  • On death, the mod spawns:
    • A chest containing your inventory
    • An armor stand displaying your equipped gear
    • A sign with your player name
  • If your inventory exceeds one chest, a second chest is placed above.
• Material-Based Logic:
  • Chests and armor stands only spawn if you had enough wood in your inventory:
    • Chest: 2 logs, 8 planks, or an actual chest
    • Armor Stand: 1 log or 3 planks
  • If materials are missing, no structure is created-unless overridden in config.
• Void Death Handling:
  • If you die in the void, the chest and armor stand spawn above your death coordinates, keeping your items retrievable.
• Player Head Option:
  • Adds your player head to the armor stand for easy identification.
  • If you wore a helmet, it’s placed inside the chest instead.
• Configurable Settings:
  • Toggle features like:
    • mustHaveItemsInInventoryForCreation
    • addPlayerHeadToArmorStand
    • createSignWithPlayerName
    • needChestMaterials, needArmorStandMaterials, needSignMaterials
  • All settings editable via config file for full customization
