Prevents getting lost by creating waypoint markers. Craft waypoint map at cartographer's table using 2 paper. Use map while crouching to open menu and create named waypoints. Each dimension has separate waypoint list. Use map without crouching to view waypoint list with distances displayed in chat. Arrow shows direction to selected point. Menu allows customization and waypoint deletion. Available in all supported versions with settings options.
