Quartz cathedral is based on a local Catholic cathedral in my area. The outside is closely similar in scale to real life but the inside is a bit smaller due to the double layered walls. I tried to add many details to make it feel like a real cathedral, and had to hope it would look alright with RTX. The surrounding village gives the cathedral an even larger sense of scale and place in the valley.
I made a modified version of the contest texture pack that has a more seamless smooth quartz texture for the interior to look more how I intended. The screenshots are not using the modified textures. This contest was a great motivator to finally wrap up this project, it's been sitting empty on my server for a few months at least. The video is using BSL, not RTX.
Huge shoutout to Cyprezz for getting screenshots for me!
