Cordon - located in the southernmost part of the Zone. It is the main “entrance” to the ChEZ, which makes Cordon a place of interest for the military, novice stalkers, and bandits. The edges are completely fenced with barbed wire.
The location is a hilly area with agricultural and logistics facilities around a single lane road that crosses the entire location. It begins with a military checkpoint, blocking the way both into and out of the Zone, also distributing anti-stalker propaganda through loudspeakers; all approaches to the checkpoint from the Zone are mined. To the east of it there is a tunnel leading to the Swamps. In the southern part of the location, away from the road, there is a small village populated by newcomer stalkers. Behind it is the bunker of the local merchant Sidorovich. On the other side, to the northeast, is the Lokomotiv auto cooperative, which is constantly changing hands. A dirt road stretches east from the ATP to the road tunnel towards the Dark Valley.
The neighborhood is divided into two sides by a railway embankment with a bridge that collapsed after another eruption. In 2012, it was controlled by a group of military officers who let stalkers through for an unspecified fee. An alternative way to the other side is a tunnel with moving “electrification”, located under the same railway embankment, just west of the main road.
Behind the tunnel, on the left side of the road, there is a pig farm, which in 2011 was the main base of the Loners. Directly opposite it, on a hill, are the ruins of a farm, where in 2011 the only bandit base on Cordon was located, and in 2012, Marked will meet first with the Fox, and then with the Guide. In the very north, the location ends with a distant checkpoint, separating the Cordon and the Landfill. In Clear Sky, southwest of the checkpoint, there is another passage to the north - a pipe through the hills, adjacent to which is a small parking lot in a hollow.
