Original Release Description:
Hello, everyone. Thank you for coming to check out (and perhaps download) this map! This is also my first upload on PlanetMinecraft!
My friend Josh Ryuk previously created maps of Hyrule from Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Termina from Zelda: Majora's Mask in Minecraft.
Ever since both maps were completed, I always thought it would be cool to combine the two together. Now, thanks to our combined efforts, this dream became possible!
This map is the Hyrule + Termina map combo. I took the two maps and combined them together in an editor named Amulet, making them into huge continents and adding them into a Great Sea (get it?). It includes just about every dungeon from the OG games, with the exceptions of Jabu-Jabu's Belly, Ganon's Castle, and the Moon Dungeons.
Now that both Hyrule and Termina are on the same map, it will be possible to travel between the two continents via boat.
To travel between the two continents, you can use a variety of methods:
- Go to Hylia Harbor (a custom dock between Kokiri Forest and Lake Hylia), craft a boat and then head eastward. Eventually you will see the Great Bay Temple and reach Termina's Great Bay Coast! Don't worry, you won't be able to reach the edge of the map or get lost; there are invisible barriers guiding you!
(Side note from Antman: the custom ship at the harbor is to be used in a future adventure map!)
- Use a teleporter hidden in the Lost Woods (which is the same way Link reaches Termina in the original game). This teleporter is located in a new area I called the "Deep Lost Woods", which we added a bit before the entrance to the Sacred Forest Meadow.
- Follow the path, then enter the cave and fall down, you will reach the cave where Majora's Mask starts. If you want to return to Hyrule, you can fly up the hole in the ceiling in this cave and find a hidden command block, too!
- We have hidden some command blocks leading to a secret Developer Room. You can use this room to quickly teleport between the two worlds, access unique items (lore and debugged), and duplicate items via Creative Mode. (Hint to access the Dev Room: check the top of Clock Town for a blue Soul Lantern.)
This project also contains a lot of improvements compared to Josh's old individual maps. They are as follows:
- Deep Lost Woods area created.
- Improved Castle Town based on the aftermath of TLoZ: Blood Moon (a project I am finishing up on YouTube at the moment!).
- Restored Light Temple (it's no longer in the Nether and corrupted), and improved the Chamber of Sages.
- Added walls and closed off some holes in the Stone Tower Temple area
- Fixed the biomes so the weather is now accurate (ex: snow in Snowhead, foggy/murky water in Woodfall)
- Rotated the map so each area is in the correct cardinal direction
- Added a new area to Termina, called the Hermit's Cove, between the Pirate Fortress and Snowhead.
- A bunch of general improvements to the map.
- A working lighthouse (sort of) for Clock Town's clock tower! Break through the cracked polished blackstone brick, and press the button to activate the piston, starting a redstone loop that activates each redstone lamp in a clockwise motion (I know the timing is not perfect. Think you can do better? Let me know!)
A big thanks to Josh Ryuk for helping me a bit with this, and also to Amulet for making this possible!
And here are the credits for everyone who helped in the project:
- Woods of Mystery area built by Anakin2800.
- Mountain Village area in Snowhead built by CritcalPulse_Gaming.
- Ikana pathway and graveyard (Exterior), Spring Water Cave, and Oceanside Spider House built by myself.
- Everything else built by Josh Ryuk, with some assistance from myself and CritcalPulse_Gaming.
I hope you guys enjoy this map, and I cannot wait to use this massive map for my future adventure maps!
And I hope you have fun experiencing what we've created as a tribute to two of our favorite games of all time!
PS: Consider subscribing to my YouTube, where I am working on the Definitive Experience of The Legend of Zelda: Blood Moon, a custom adventure that takes place on Josh's Hyrule Map.
I have plans for a prequel and sequel to Blood Moon, which will utilize this map. Stay tuned!
DISCLAIMER: I know these maps are not 100% accurate to the OG games; we went custom on this project, so cut us some slack!
