BRIAN'S SHADERS

A complete Minecraft Bedrock shader/resource-pack remaster focused on realistic lighting, cinematic skies, atmospheric weather, water, shadows, reflections, vegetation movement, and strong mobile performance.

Based on Iteration.

BRIAN'S SHADERS is built around preserving Minecraft's visual identity while pushing the world toward a more realistic, cinematic presentation. Existing systems that already work well are intentionally preserved instead of being unnecessarily redesigned.

CORE FEATURES

• Realistic lighting with improved sunlight, ambient lighting, nighttime balance, and dynamic-looking light transmission.

• Sun direction that follows the day/night cycle instead of using a fixed lighting direction.

• Warm sunrise and sunset coloration that concentrates around the sun instead of tinting the entire sky uniformly.

• Cinematic sunset atmosphere with a gradual warm-to-natural sky transition.

• God-ray style lighting and lightweight volumetric-looking atmospheric effects where supported by the active renderer.

• Subtle screen sharpness to keep terrain, blocks, items, and details crisp.

• Restrained lens-style effects that avoid excessive bloom or screen obstruction.

• Lightweight fake motion/atmospheric effects designed to avoid the cost of expensive full physical simulation.

WATER

• Enhanced water surface appearance.

• More noticeable wave motion and surface movement.

• 3D-looking wave approximation designed for performance.

• Surface highlights and lightweight reflections.

• Underwater light transmission and subtle underwater rays.

• Water lighting that follows the sun's actual direction.

• Correct-looking sunrise and sunset illumination while underwater.

• Darker underwater environments at night instead of artificially bright underwater scenes.

• Moonlight and subtle moon reflections at night.

• Water interaction effects, including splashes and rain impact effects, when supported by the active pack configuration.

SHADOWS

• Improved shadow definition while keeping the world playable.

• Stronger contact-shadow appearance around terrain and structures.

• Dynamic-looking shadow direction tied to the sun's movement.

• Better shadow definition for major structures, including End structures.

• Shadow quality is balanced against GPU workload so the shader does not unnecessarily make the whole world dark.

WEATHER AND FOG

• Enhanced rain presentation.

• More visible rain effects.

• Rain splashes and atmospheric rain effects.

• Stronger rainy-day atmosphere and fog.

• Darker and more dramatic thunderstorms.

• Weather-responsive atmosphere while maintaining useful gameplay visibility.

• Fog intended to react to weather, biome, time of day, and dimension.

• Rain-focused particle and atmosphere optimizations for mobile hardware.

END DIMENSION

• The original Brian's Shaders End presentation is preserved.

• The signature ringed End planet / End sky remains part of the pack.

• End lighting is kept separate from the global sunset system so the End sky is not accidentally replaced.

• End structures retain stronger shadow definition and dramatic lighting.

• Existing End visuals are preserved rather than being replaced by unrelated sky systems.

NETHER

• Existing Nether visuals are preserved.

• The Nether is not redesigned just for the sake of changing it.

• Lighting additions are intended to remain compatible with the existing Nether appearance.

CLOUDS

• Existing cloud systems are preserved.

• The pack does not replace the accepted cloud look with a completely unrelated style.

REFLECTIONS AND MATERIALS

• Material-dependent highlights rather than making every block mirror-like.

• More noticeable glossy behavior for dark polished materials such as obsidian.

• Lightweight reflection approximations for shiny/metal-like blocks where supported.

• Armor receives more polished material response and subtle highlights without excessive brightness.

• Items and blocks retain Minecraft's recognizable appearance while receiving improved lighting response.

VEGETATION AND WIND

• Animated vegetation support.

• Broad leaf-animation coverage through the integrated animation pack where applicable.

• Grass and foliage movement.

• Weather-aware wind intensity.

• Lightweight animation behavior intended for mobile-friendly performance.

VILLAGE ANIMATIONS

Integrated Village Animations 1.3.2 assets add expanded animation behavior for supported villagers, pillagers, iron golems, ravagers, witches, wandering traders, players, and other supplied entities.

REALISTIC RAIN INTEGRATION

Realistic Rain v3.8.5 assets are integrated for enhanced rainy weather, rain fog, rain particles, wet-player effects, rain ambience, and additional atmospheric presentation.

SUNSET INTEGRATION

Summerset Visuals sunset assets are integrated selectively. The sunset sun texture is used while the global atmosphere override is kept isolated so the original End ringed-planet system remains intact.

SHARPNESS AND VISUAL CLARITY

• High-quality visual crispness.

• Reduced soft/washed appearance.

• Clearer terrain, block, and item detail.

• Effects are restrained so the image remains readable.

MOBILE PERFORMANCE

BRIAN'S SHADERS includes multiple optimization levels instead of forcing every player to use the highest visual quality.

ULTRA LOW OPTIMIZATION

Designed for very weak/mobile devices.

• Uses the lightweight renderer material set.

• Significantly reduced weather particle budgets.

• Reduced rain splash count.

• Reduced player rain-drip spawn rate.

• Reduced maximum live weather particles.

• Shorter particle lifetimes.

• Prioritizes FPS stability over visual complexity.

LOW / MAX FPS

Designed for players who want a strong performance/quality balance.

• Lightweight renderer material set.

• Reduced rain particle workload.

• Reduced player drip workload.

• Preserves more of the shader appearance while reducing GPU/particle overhead.

BRIAN'S MOBILE OPTIMIZED

A broader performance-first option for mobile hardware using the existing lightweight material configuration.

LEGACY OPTIONS

The pack retains legacy tuning options from the original shader where applicable so players can choose a more compatibility-oriented visual path.

PERFORMANCE PHILOSOPHY

The goal is not to blindly add expensive effects. BRIAN'S SHADERS favors convincing approximations wherever they provide most of the visual benefit for a fraction of the cost.

Examples include lightweight reflections, optimized shadow sampling, low-cost atmospheric effects, simplified wave behavior, restrained lens effects, optimized particles, and mobile-focused material variants.

FPS METER NOTE

A true custom live FPS counter is not included because a Bedrock resource/shader pack should not display a fabricated FPS value. Players should use Minecraft's supported performance/debug tools or their device's trusted FPS overlay when benchmarking the pack.

SHADER LOADER / COMPATIBILITY

BRIAN'S SHADERS is intended for Minecraft Bedrock environments that support the required shader/material loading path. Depending on the Minecraft version and platform, a compatible shader-loader, material-loader, MB Loader patch, or another supported shader-enabling solution may be required.

This project does not claim that vanilla Bedrock will automatically execute every custom renderer feature on every version. Compatibility depends on the loader/patch and the Minecraft version being used.

UPCOMING RELEASE

A future non-patch edition of BRIAN'S SHADERS is planned. The upcoming non-patch build is intended for environments where shaders can be loaded without relying on the current patch-based method.

CURSEFORGE NOTES

• Recommended to test the pack on the Minecraft Bedrock version targeted by the release.

• Use the optimization subpack that matches your device.

• Very low-end devices should start with ULTRA LOW OPTIMIZATION.

• Higher-end devices can use the more visual-oriented configurations.

• Existing shader systems, the ringed End planet, clouds, Nether visuals, and integrated animations are intentionally preserved.
