NOIR CUT | Shaders
NOIR CUT drags Minecraft into a 1940s crime film — crushed blacks, blown-out highlights and long, knife-edged shadows thrown by a hard low sun. And in all…

"You ever notice how the dark has eyes?" 🚬
NOIR CUT isn't a black-and-white filter. Anyone can yank the saturation slider to zero and call it a day — this is a full film-noir grade, rebuilt from the lighting engine up. 🖤
🎞️ A real film curve, not a desaturate. Every single texture is pushed through a cinematic S-curve — blacks crush to true black, highlights blow clean out to white, and the midtones get squeezed exactly like 40s film stock. Paired with Hable filmic tone mapping for that gorgeous, buttery noir roll-off. 🌗
🔦 Light that actually acts like a movie light. The sun drops to a hard, low 22° key angle and ambient light gets choked down to almost nothing. The result? Long, dramatic, reaching shadows. Every birch trunk becomes a slash of white against the black. Every hill throws a silhouette. ✨
👁️ THE EYES. GLOW. This is the one. 594 mob textures got true emissive eyes burned into their PBR maps — not a texture trick, actual light. A creeper in an unlit cave is two floating white embers. An enderman across the ravine is a pair of headlights. A zombie shambling out of the fog stares at you and you see it first. 😳🔥
💧 Light rolls off their skin. Every mob's roughness was remapped into a glossy band, so torchlight, moonlight and lava now catch on them — a wet, sculpted highlight tracing every shoulder and jawline as they move through your torchlight. Mobs finally look like they're standing in the scene instead of pasted onto it. 🌟
🌫️ Smoke-machine fog. All 80 biome fogs rebuilt into a heavy gray haze that swallows the horizon. Near-black water. Dark-zenith sky blown out to a bright white horizon line so every ridge reads as pure silhouette. 🏙️
🌙 Nights you can actually survive — the moon was deliberately boosted, so it's moody and menacing, never unplayable.
🎛️ Every biome. Every mob. Every block. 3,252 textures regraded, 89 biomes, 15 lighting rigs, 17 sky profiles. Nothing was left in color. Your UI stays readable, though — we're stylish, not cruel. 😏
