Block surfaces gain shapes, bumps and shadows that react to in-game lighting with Vibrant Depth 3D, a PBR pack that keeps the classic art style. Blocks, entities, items and armor are retextured at 16x resolution.
The PBR materials come with metalness, emissive and roughness maps plus normal and height maps, which give the textures a more three-dimensional appearance. Those material effects are only visible when Vibrant Visuals mode is enabled in the game. The result is a cleaner, more defined presentation that stays within the vanilla look.
