CHILL SHADER: Slow Down and Take in the Light

CHILL SHADER is a lighting and atmosphere pack for Minecraft Bedrock, built for Vibrant Visuals. It keeps the blocks, textures and feel of classic Minecraft and changes only the light around them. The result is calm, moody and cinematic: soft haze hanging between the trees, sunlight glowing through fog, and warm lanterns against a deep, dark night. Every biome gets its own colour of light, so each place has its own mood.

What You Get

Dense, glowing haze. The pack fills the air with volumetric fog that catches the sun, so rays bloom through leaves and mist instead of cutting sharply across the screen. Fog colours are tuned per biome across all 89 biomes, with 39 hand-tuned light themes covering caves, oceans and the other dimensions.

A few examples:

Moody sunsets and sunrises. The sky moves from muted mauve at the top to peach and rose near the horizon. Sunlight turns soft peach-orange, then pink as it sinks, and the haze glows with it.

Deep, quiet nights. Night skies are very dark navy-violet with dim, cool moonlight and faint stars. Darkness is real, so the warm glow from lanterns, torches, candles and campfires stands out clearly.

Warm, coloured local lights. Light sources cast their own coloured light on nearby blocks. Soul torches glow blue, copper torches glow green, and amethyst glows violet. A lantern-lit path at night is one of the pack's best moments.

Grey, soft rain. In rain the haze turns a cool slate-violet, only lightly tinted by the biome, with muted colours and a misty, wet feel.

A dark, mysterious End. The End is deep indigo-black with a glowing violet beam of light and drifting purple haze.

A deeper Nether. Each Nether biome has its own sky, light colour and ambient glow. Crimson Forest is very dark red, with a nearly black ceiling, and the Nether wastes burn orange through thick haze.

Water with caustics. Shallow water shows animated, net-like caustic patterns on the floor. The caustics texture was created from scratch for this pack.

Cinematic colour. A gentle colour-grading pass adds contrast and slightly muted saturation, with soft-edged shadows, for a calm film-like look.

How to Use It

  1. Import the .mcpack file by tapping or double-clicking it. Do not unzip it into a folder.
  2. Go to Settings, then Global Resources, and activate CHILL SHADER.
  3. Turn on Vibrant Visuals in Video Settings.
  4. For the best rays and glow, explore at sunrise or sunset, among trees, hills and mist.

Tips

Compatibility
Built for Minecraft Bedrock with Vibrant Visuals enabled. The minimum engine version is 1.21.100. Some features, such as coloured local lights, need a newer game version (1.21.120 or later) to appear. It needs a device that supports Vibrant Visuals, and performance depends on your hardware and render distance.

Originality
All configuration files, colour values, the caustics texture and the pack icon in this pack were made from scratch. It uses no textures, files or assets from other packs.
