With Fallout's anniversary being just around the corner, it's a joy to reflect upon what made classic Fallout what it is, but other than celebrating its release date and what it created, we can also celebrate the ones who keep it alive to this day.
That's the reason I present to you. Fallout: Far-Wastelands Chronicles, a tribute to those teams that keep classic Fallout fresh, through their hard work in the form of Fallout 2 Total Conversion mods. In this case, the skin pack comprises recreations of some of the talking heads and unique sprites seen in Fallout: Resurrection, Fallout: Nevada, Fallout: Sonora, Fallout: Mutants Rising, as well as Fallout: Yesterday.
That said, to be clear, the tribute is not confined to the skins themselves; it's also observable in the miniature and other material made to promote and share this skin pack. In other words, none of the ideas or representations used to make this skin pack come from me, but from each of the fan-games included in the skin pack. I leave it to you to pinpoint which UI elements and references come from which fan-game specifically ;)
I also recommend that you check some of the fan-games listed, bearing in mind that each of them may contain mature themes.
Brief Showcase:
Credits:
- Ewan Howell: Part of the miniature's title was made using his blockbench plugin, intended for the creation of Minecraft-style titles.
- The team behind Blockbench: For the inclusion of versatile tools, including model previews, which helped showcase the skins above.
- Team Cubitos MC: The miniature was possible thanks to their "Player NPC" resource pack found at https://www.cubitosmc.com/
- Quantum apprentice: His Fallout: Nevada playthrough was used in order to recreate the talking heads and depicted in the skin pack.
- Mash: His Hero appearance mod was included in the fan-game's version used for this skin pack.
I'll also reference the fan-games themselves for more information:
- Fallout Nevada:
