Backrooms RTX is an infinite, eerie, randomly-generated Minecraft RTX experience inspired by the urban legend of backrooms liminal spaces. If you're looking for an actually good & truly infinite Backrooms experience, this is for you!

The goal of this project was to create the psychological horror of running through the never-ending labyrinth of the backrooms. There is no monster, and no mission to beat, but most importantly, no end in sight!
As you explore the complex, you will keep encountering rooms and hallways that vaguely resemble real life spaces that may sometimes feel familiar, but never look the same twice.

You may however, unlock the world template, make the space more dangerous, and try to survive, but that's up to you, the purpose of this template is to recreate the distressing experience of being in the backrooms and being able to roam truly endlessly.

The file you download here is a world template with a built-in add-on, not an .mcworld!
To play:
Import the template, and create a world using the template before the world creation menu.
If you don't know what world templates are in Minecraft Bedrock, look up an online tutorial.

Ray Tracing Setup

For ray tracing to be enabled correctly, use the Vanilla RTX App to launch Minecraft with RTX before you attempt importing the world template and creating your copy of Backrooms RTX world. Requires a dedicted DXR capable GPU.

This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nvidia or Mojang.
It is a fan-made project created in the same spirit as RTX's other demo worlds available for free on the marketplace. Furthermore, some of PBR assets fall under CC0, explicitly the ones taken from this page.
The behavior pack, and all other resources, including the sound effects, are original work by Cubeir, All rights reserved, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
